As I get older I find that Woo Apologist bother me more or as much then Woo Slingers.
Woo Slingers believe in something so they promote it. Okay ignoring the fact that what they believe in unsupported nonsense, that at least makes sense. Person A says X is true, Person B says it isn't, they talk and (in theory at least) their respective opinions fight it out in the arena of ideas and that's how we get to truth. I don't like the starting point with Woo Slingers but I can't (in theory at least again) fault their tactics beyond that. Most all Woo Slingers use bad argumentatives, but that's another topic.
But Woo Apologist... the people running into debates screaming "Why does it matter?" and "Why can't you compromise?" and "Can't you see your both being equally stubborn!" and "If Bob says 2+2=4 and Ted says 2+2=5 can't we just agree that it equals 4.5 and move on?"
That I just don't get. I don't get their angle, I don't get what they are trying to accomplish. I don't get what they are trying to prove.
