This thread is about Sam Whittingham and his recumbent bike with which he set the world record for going 81 mph plus. The main thing of interest was a new kind of gear assembly which enabled him to go that fast.
Also, I'm sure everyone saw the viral video about a guy who flew his hang glider like device(faked) with flapping wings. What do the engineers and math wizards think about using his radical new gearing system to try to fly like the guy in the viral video? Even if it is still impossible with to fly by flapping, could this gearing help set new records with the fixed wing Gossamer Albatross used to fly across the English Channel?
