I'm not sure that this is the correct forum, if not, please move. I've put it here because immigration has become such a politicized issue.
As you can see from this page from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) all appear to be at an equal level, and all deal with immigration.
I'm honestly confused as to which agency does what, when, and why. And why they appear to be so overlapping. Sounds inefficient. Can anybody clarify, please? Especially for the first two, the third one (which I'd never heard of) sounds like it probably approves naturalization.
