Transgender police officer denied entry to transgender event she helped organize.

San Diego Police Officer Christine Garcia, the department's first transgender officer, was denied entry to the Transgender Day of Remembrance event (a yearly event remembering the victims of transgender targeted violence) over concerns that her uniform might "upset" other attendees. Officer Garcia had helped organize and plan security for the event.
