At least nine people died in a fire that tore through an Oakland warehouse as people were having a party, fire officials said Saturday. KTVU reported that another 25 people were unaccounted for. The station reported that Oakland firefighters responded to the three-alarm fire at the warehouse about 11:30 p.m. local time Friday and were still on the scene Saturday morning. Firefighters told the station there were about 50 people inside the two-story building in Oakland's Fruitvale district at the time. |
