To buy or to subscribe? That is the question.

I have to learn Pro Tools for school, and for my future career. The student price to buy is $300 and the price to subscribe is $10/month. I'd have to have it for more than a couple years to make the purchase price worth it, but I don't know if I will need it that long. If I do, I will be using it for many years to come. If not, it will just be a few months. I don't want to subscribe and waste money if I need to buy it, but I don't want to waste money to buy if I don't use it.

Should I buy it or subscribe?
