Where I live in northern Canada the old ways and beliefs are still remembered and practiced(by the elders and older generations).
One of my brother in laws (the baby of the family, not the youngest, just the baby) left his common law wife. When he started fooling around with this other woman, his "wife" began to fill his Mother's head with all kinds of garbage(she knows he's her baby), in an attempt to get him to come home. They teamed up and after much ridiculous drama things got even more ridiculous.
His "wife" and Mother went to a Medicine Man and asked him to curse this new woman. (He refused).
My questions are, could they have been charged with attempted murder if he had accepted? Also, can they be charged with conspiracy to commit murder?
I say yes, the plan might have had a flaw but the intent was there.
What are your thoughts?
