Nasty Seattle murder

I guess this is getting picked up nationally, if not internationally, because the victim was a nice white nurse with 3 kids, and she was allegedly murdered by the guy she was dating.

They went to the Mariners opening game last night, and the next afternoon a guy in my general neighborhood went to take his cans in from trash pickup and found one was heavy. Inside? Neatly packaged body parts in plastic bags. Her head, a foot, a couple of other pieces.

He was arrested, and was arraigned for first-degree murder on Wednesday.

Today, Friday, is weekly trash/compost pickup around here, and a few blocks from the first dump location, a garbage collector found more apparent body parts in a can.

Now this is the part that puzzles me. What have the cops been doing all week? Why did they not canvass other cans in the neighborhood to look for more parts on Saturday after the first ones are found? Even if they didn't want to knock on all those doors to get permission, a nice stroll with a trained cadaver dog could have suggested specific cans to check into.

But they waited till someone else found more parts, and now all the collectors working this area have had to take their trucks in for the contents to be carefully checked. It's been a warm week too, so trash that was fairly fresh last weekend (not to mention the body parts) are going to be a lot more unpleasant.

I certainly hope they're going to check all the food & yard waste bins this time too!

For those of you that want more info than I've provided, a quick Google of Ingrid Lyne should be all you need.
