Obviously I don't mean IQ or capacity of any kind. Some freak like Christopher Langan might have an off the charts IQ but he believes in ID and said we need to practice some kind of mandatory birth control to prevent overpopulation.
No, who is the most reasonable person, the most thoughtful, the most accurate about scientific and moral controversies, the most well-spoken and productive member of society kind of person... someone who inspires you because they are for whatever reason, a fine example of what the mind can achieve, what we all can achieve... Think of it as our own "Top Public Intellectual" poll, the ISF version, in the spirit of others who end up with kooks like Russell Brand on the top because of internet voting.
I vote for Steven Pinker. I'd put Lawrence Krauss up there. And Noam Chomsky. Just kidding, that guy's a fruit loop. Any other examples of genius?
