Is Celebrating Christmas Promoting Christianity?

Do atheists that celebrate Christmas inadvertently promote Christianity? I don't imagine many if any atheists have anything as blatantly Christian as a nativity scene in their homes, but by merely celebrating and supporting Christmas as an annual “magical” fun event, do atheists add anything to the credibility of the Jesus Christ story and belief in the minds of their children?

Any thoughts anyone?
