The cost of renting a house in Britain

Been a while since I lived there and much longer since I rented there, but this Guardian article shocked me.

"In Greater London, however, the average [monthly] rent for a two-bedder is now £2,216. London prices are up 6% over the past year."

£26k for a year's rent? :eek:
