I have an odd request. Does anyone know where to buy captian's epauletts (the bits on the shoulders) circa 1820 or there abouts? I need at minimum those. I have a sibling getting married, and need to give them those for a wedding gift.
Ideally, I would prefer a historically accurate captian's voat, complete with the epauletts signifying >3 years' seniority, along with a general's uniform of the same era (it would take too long to explain). But at the absolute, bare minimum, I need the shoulder pieces.
Trouble is, I have no idea where to look. My historical re-enactment I Medieval, so the time of muskets is alien to me. I know of these things form Hornblower and Aubrey, but have never considered buying any before! Now it has become somewhat critical...
