iOS 8 - Rumours and Wishlist

Plenty of rumour flying around already, perhaps not surprising given that WWDC 14 is only about 2 months away and this is where iOS 8 is likely to be announced.

Most of the rumours are gathered up here:

with particular focus being on the (apparently) leaked Healthbook App.

Healthbook seems to be a full-body health diary and monitoring suite. More intriguingly though, this could be the biggest indication yet of Apple's long-rumoured SmartWatch/IWatch... after all, something has to monitor and collate all that data for the Healthbook App. The last time I checked, the iphone couldn't measure blood sugar levels.

On a personal note, I never wear a watch, exercise only accidentally, and don't really care what I put in my body, so an iWatch would need to do something a lot more than be a fancy heart-rate monitor, and Healthbook isn't likely to be a big draw for me beyond an occasional curiosity. So what else is rumoured that I AM excited about?

Honest answer is "not much", beyond some general OS/UI tweaks, buffs and polish. Maps is said to be getting a big raft of improvements, but given that it has successfully navigated me all over the country, I don't have a real issue with it in it's present form.

Siri is rumoured to be getting some unspecified functionality - the more the merrier I say - I find Siri very useful as it is.

Game Centre will apparently be ditched as a stand-alone app, but can still be used from within compatible games.

The subject of Mobile Payments pops up again - but not NFC; I think if Apple were going to go down that route they'd have done it a while ago. However, with the introduction of the 5S and fingerprint scanner, Apple may have something else up their sleeve.

So, iOS users, what do you think of what we might be getting, and what would you hope to get?
