I usually don't rant, but this is a good one. I had to buy a new laptop last night. Thank you Microsoft for the abomination that is Windows 8.1. Thank you for installing it without my knowledge or consent (I never acutally went to the store and got it), and thus crashing and all but destroying my four-month-old Toshiba. Thank you for making sure it cannot be removed. Thank you for tech support in two different countries that I could barely understand for wasting hours of my time on the phone trying to "fix" it. The "can't be removed" part is especially priceless. Shame on you, Microsoft.
Black and blue crash screens of death without fail, every attempt to use the computer. I spent about a whole day angry.
