To Toke and Soapy Sam and JimBen and all you guys 'n gals who have been out there and faced the open seas, my hat is off, yet again. A friend in the insurance industry sent me this link. He's involved in the possible claim - there may be fractures in the hull.
I made my living for 47 years being the desk jockey type while the captains and mates and crews braved the waves. I've done trips up or down a coast line or across a large bay to a nearby sister port. Nothing of this nature.
I've sent this video off to the folks who are now doing my training course. Tons of respect for these folks. Man, I'd be out there trying to get some seawater on me so they didn't notice I'd already wet myself. Forty degrees is scary. So scary, that their gauge doesn't seem to go beyond it. I guess they assume "oh, well, you're all dead at that point so no need to measure". Check the instrument at about 1:55.
