I've been having trouble with Windows Media player, for some reason it won't get album information off the net anymore, and I figured it would probably be as easy to find an alternative as it would be to fix the problem.
My primary goal is playing and organizing my large CD collection, as well as copying it to my cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy S4. Watching videos is a secondary goal. I don't see myself doing anything more complex than that.
I'd like to be able to do this without adware of any kind. I don't mind investing a few bucks for an adware-free version, but I'd like to know ahead of time that the money will be well spent.
Looking around the web, possible contenders are MediaMonkey, KMPlayer, UMPlayer, VideoLAN, Audacity, GOMPlayer and POT player. Lots of others, probably.
It seems like it should be a simple decision, but I feel over my head in making it.
Anyone have an opinion to offer?
