Watched a television show last night in which they applied some science to try to determine the cause of the Marfa lights. Seems many times it is just headlights but not always. They baited the landscape so to speak with different colored strobes flashing at differing rates to encourage the lights to respond. Once they go a few lights to show up they were perplexed by their standard optical camers picking up a light while their FLIR camera's saw nothing.
One dude speculated that it's bioluminescent creatures as yet unidentified.
