Every night for about 5 days, round about now (20:00 EET), our ancient XP pc starts yakking - "Updating...almost complete...needs to be restarted... will be restarted automatically in 14 minutes and 10 seconds. 14 minutes to self-destruct..."
Then a klaxon starts blaring and there's an Alien lurking in the hall (well, not those last few bits).
Whether or not I accept the 'restart now', when it comes to shutting down for the night I get the 'Shut down without installing updates?' dialogue. If I accept shutdown after installing updates it makes no difference the next night.
Any clues?
