Acid reflux and antacids

When I feel like a "sour" stomach is comming on I use Rolaids or Pepto Bismo to alleviate the symptoms. I could banish it altogether if I used Pepsid or a similar product but I use a lot of other medicine for other ailments and having a lot of chemicals in my body just doesn't appeal to me.



Sometimes after using Rolaids or Pepto Bismo a vile tasting substance comes into my mouth and it burns a bit. Is this a fialure of the antacids or has the stomach acid turned into something else?
