I predict a clean short-term CR and debt ceiling deal is reached. Maybe for two months. Then serious negotiations will begin. The negotiations will fall apart on revenue increases, and the debt ceiling fight will begin anew*.
*But I'm hopeful both sides will agree on some revenue increases, even if it doesn't include raising the overall tax rate. But I don't think this will happen. Moderate Republicans may agree to it, but the tea partiers would never accept it, and they are setting GOP policy, at the moment.
