Football is barbaric.
Football kills people needlessly.
Football causes chronic brain trauma in its participants.
Nearly every play in football would justify a felony assault charge if it occurred off the gridiron.
How can anyone justify this brutal and violent sport?
I've brought this issue up before in these forums and been shouted down for being a trouble-making troll. But it genuinely disturbs me that we in the U.S. so glorify and obsess over a sport that is little more than a modern-day gladiator spectacle. Shouldn't we try to evolve beyond such things?
If you disagree, please present a logical argument for why my point of view is misguided.
Thank you.
