Is there a urologist in the house?
I have a couple of general "U" questions:
1. What is the proper/medical term for a session of urinating? (a session of defacating is called a Bowel Movement or a "BM". What is the equivalent term for a session of urinating?)
I will call it a UM (Urinary Movement) for the rest of this post...
2. How large (in cc's) is an average UM?
i ask because
[TMI ALERT]
Since my stroke in 2008, I have been a "Left-side Hemiplegic" (having little-to-no control over the muscles in the left half of my body). Apparently, one of the unexpected (ny me, anyway) results of this is a reduced control over the urinary sphincter muscle or muscles (the muscle or muscles which control the starting and stopping of the flow of urine), meaning that I often suffer occasionally from UI (Urinary Incontinence).
In other words, I often wet my pants.

3. How man cc's are in a (liquid) cup?
According to this page:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_cc's_are_in_1_cup
...So, if the above answers are correct, and if I am reading/interpreting them correctly, a healthy adult bladder should hold up to 500 cc's of urine comfortably, whereas mine starts panicking at less than half of that.
Not good!
The good news is:
During the past few days, I have started to regain some very limited control over the muscles in my left arm and leg. I continue to exercise these muscles, and expect/hope to see more improvement in this in the days, weeks and months to come. This could potentially lead to me walking again!
I am doing exercises to help this along, including daily use of my LifeCycle exercise bike-like thing.
It also means that I might be seeing some improvement in my bladder control and my bladder capacity in the days, weeks and months ahead, and that kegel exercises might help with that:

A healthy adult bladder can hold up to 16 ounces (2 cups) of urine comfortably, according to the National Institutes of Health. How frequently it fills depends on how much excess water your body is trying to get rid of. |

cc aka cubic centimetre are equal to 1 ml therefore 1 cup(250 ml) would contain 250 cc |
