International Observe the Moon Night - Occultation - Oct 12

Tonight will be the 2013 International Observe the Moon Night. I’ve discovered that magnitude +3.1 double star Beta Capricorni will be occulted (covered) by the Moon this evening for much of North America.

For observers at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium I predict that immersion will occur at 20:15:16 CDT and emersion at 21:29:33 CDT. If you would like occultation predictions for your location, please reply to this post with a longitude, latitude, elevation and time zone.

Occultations of fairly bright stars do not occur too often for a particular location, but for this one to be presented to North Americans at a convenient time during the Saturday evening of an international event is phenomenal. Related preview graphics and data are on my occultations webpage: www.CurtRenz.com/occultations

Photos and descriptions of the event would be welcome additions to this thread.
