Well now, here's an(other) *interesting* little story about a sports commentator saying verrrrry bad stuff, while not realising his mic was still live and broadcasting (warning: story contains offensive and racist language):

Perhaps (wearily) predictably, the man responsible, Matt Rowan, has attempted to formulate an excuse by a) presenting himself as a kindly, godly person (now where have we come across this sort of excusatory gambit before...), and b) in an impressively improbable doubling down, blamed his use of extreme and racist language on his diabetes:
