I'm required to get off Redhat 6 and move to Redhat 7 and was told I couldn't upgrade in place, I needed a whole new server.
Now, I did try to cheat and just copy the files for my application, instead of doing an install. However, in my defense the install just involves untarring of files, so it was a reasonable decision.
Somehow in configuring tomcat it has made a hardlink to a directory, which I'm reading should not be done.
But I can't UNDO it. No attempt to remove that hardlink has worked. Unlink doesn't work. I removed the directory it linked to and still couldn't remove it.
How can I remove this dang thing?
