I am about to purchase a new 27in iMac. My current one is 8 years old, overheating like crazy and just chugging along. I could spend money to fix the overheating, but it's had a good life and I think I will pension it off.
I'm getting the faster processor option and extra flash memory, but am tossing up between 16GB and 32GM of RAM. In Australia the difference is $640, so that's significant.
I'm just a standard user. Play high-level games, watch Netflix, download music and videos but don't do video editing and such. I expect to get another 7 or so years out of this. Should I invest in the extra RAM, or is it a waste for a user like me?
