Antivirus, Adblockers, and More -- Advice, Please

I will be getting a new laptop today. On previous ones I have had a go-to person who recommended adblockers and such, but I am no longer convinced the advice was the best. I have done a bit of research on what to do, but it seems that when I reach a website that seems complete there is always a link on more to do.

I will be getting an HP with Windows 10. My usage will primarily be limited to vanilla browsing like ISF, Facebook, Yahoo, some news and political sites, etc. But there will be the occasional watching a video or online television show. I may also get on Steam for the sole purpose of this game which a friend showed me and which I love.

I do get curious, though, so occasionally I may be tempted into more questionable sites (I'm only slightly talking about naughty adult stuff so stop your snickering...)

My goals are to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff I am led to believe the laptop will come with and to add free programs for security and such. The device I am getting comes with McAfee LiveSafe, but I think I need to uninstall it.

Anyway, here is my plan so far. I would like thoughts on it:

Follow the directions on this site to get rid of unneeded programs/apps.

Install these free programs, though I'm not entirely sure of the difference between them:

Avast
Malwarebytes
CCleaner
AdBlock Plus

Am I good with this?
