Russia's Afghanistan Revenge

I keep wondering if sooner or later Putin will start covertly arming the Taliban so they can extract revenge for Russia's humiliation in Afghanistan the 1980's. I guess it could happen if the US made a serious move against a Russian Ally (like they bombed Iran, or something). And it would be pretty easy, too. I mean, the Taliban are doing well using out-dated and broken-down equipment. Thus, should Russia supply them with fresh rifles and machine guns, lots of RPGs, lots of radios and lots of should-launched missiles then the Taliban would become a nightmare. As a result, America might begin to better understand the 1980s Soviet experience in Afghanistan.

Ya' never know.
