The current election has taught us that celebrities are potentially credible nominees.
The advantages are obvious:
- considered to be outsiders, hence not tainted by the "corrupting influence of Washington"
- assumed to be wealthy enough as not to be beholden to special interests
- guaranteed free publicity
- somewhat pre-vetted by the gutter press
Now, there are of course some drawbacks, as the last contestant of "Celebrity President" continues to demonstrate.
But who, in your opinion, might make a decent celebrity candidate for the 2020 election?
