I've noticed quite a bit of spin and churning, but in fact the decision to withdraw troops from Iraq was signed on 14 December, 2008 by George W. Bush, and the date that was set was 31 December, 2011.
As that was set in law, that is what happened. Now we see the results, both of the ill-considered destruction of Iraq (note: this does not imply that Saddam was anything other than a vile Despot who suppressed religion), and the timetable set for pulling out of Iraq, which is that Iraq is irreversibly going over to hyper-militant, hatred-driven Islamic Jihad for at least a few generations, at best.
Do you think 'W's timetable, which was set by law and international agreement, was too fast?
If so, what, if anything, do you think Obama should have done about this potentially mistaken timetable, given that it was both law and treaty?
