My sister has a problem. Her young son has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and the doctor her primary recommended her to has prescribed him Azathioprine but now she's getting test results with high liver enzymes and she's really worried that his liver is being damaged too much by the treatment and doesn't know if she should stop the treatment.
A bit of background, my sister is, let's say, open to woo remedies and she seems to want to go to "natural" treatments (I also get called closed minded for wanting evidence). I told her to talk to her doctors (the specialist and her primary) about her concerns and see what they say, but she thinks they're just going to refuse to listen to her concerns, and she's not even sure how to bring it up.
She's rightfully scared for her son but I'm not sure what more I can really tell her. Does anyone have any advice I can give her? I don't know much about Crohn's so I could only trust the doctor but it sounds like she doesn't have a great opinion of hers.
