BBC News: Teenagers have to keep studying English and maths



On top of all UK kids being required to stay in full-time education until 17 (to be increase to 18 in a few years), they must now keep taking English and maths until they pass at a certain grade - both subjects have long been compulsory, but walking away with a lower grade or even an outright fail wasn't The End of the World.
