So Graham, who seems to be in a panic as he's polling neck and neck with Democrat rival Jaime Harrison, spoke last night in a forum. It was originally supposed to be a debate, but Graham refused to take a COVID-19 test prior to the scheduled debate, so the format was changed, with each candidate now speaking remotely for half an hour, with Harrison going first. At one point Graham said that young black people and immigrants were free to go anywhere in the state, as long as they're conservative, not liberal. I didn't watch the debate, so I thought he must've been paraphrased in a way that made it sound worse that it really was. But nope, he said it.

I've lived in South Carolina for twenty five years, and I long regarded Graham as a bit of a wishy-washy, moderate Republican. He even had moments of apparent courage, as when he stood up to condemn Donald Trump as an unfit candidate for the executive branch. But as Trump ascended to the head of the GOP, Lindsey saw that his course was clear. The time had come to knuckle under - to get down on all fours and really lick boot.
I don't think he's really changed. I think he's just crapped himself into a corner where he's forced to reveal what a weasel he's always been.
We're seeing record turnouts among African Americans in South Carolina in early voting, and I hope Lindsey gets his ass kicked.
Also, I miss Jon Stewart's Lindsey Graham impression.
