Not intended to take Democratic victory in the fall for granted.
When/if Trump is ousted, what needs to be prioritized to salvage American institutions and the US economy, as well as giving people relief from the pandemic? Maybe some sort of safeguards need to be looked at to prevent this calamity from occuring again?
A couple of ideas, in no particular order:
1. Reparations - to the people who were most affected by Trump's regime. Camps need to be closed and people need to be brought back together. Compensation needs to be payed.
2. Accountability - people who collaborated with the regime need to be brought to justice where applicable. There need to be investigations into the criminality within the Justice Department - especially ICE et al - and some of the more overtly criminal departments need to be shut down and the leaders prosecuted. There's also room for prosecutions against many of the people who profited from Trump's corruption, including the Trump family themselves.
3. Stepping up on Covid-19 - you need to stop the rampant spread of the disease. This will probably entail bashing a few governors' heads.
4. Rebuilding US trust abroad - you're going to need to assure democratic allies around the world that you're back in business. You're also going to need to take a harder stance against authoritarianism around the world. Probably a harder stance than you have in the past - such as dropping Saudi as an ally, for example.
5. Cracking down on economic inequality - it's one of the major reasons Trump happened, after all. It's also the source of much of the racism you're struggling with. Tax the rich. Heavily. Make them pay to rebuild the country.
Any more ideas?
