You know the story: $130+ million in cold wallets (most of it in bitcoin), founder dies unexpectedly, only he has (had!) the password, no one could find/crack it, ...
Yet I read that the auditors, Ernst&Young, were able to determine that most are empty. How could they do that if they didnt have the password? And if they did have the password, how did they get it?
