Dear Helpdesk and Technical Support.... (A thread for users)

Happened yesterday.
Thing wasn't working. Called Technical Support. Surprisingly short wait time after the standard "We are experiencing unusually heavy call volumes..." message that they play for every call.
Nice young lady offers to assist. I tell her the thing isn't working, that it applies to both our things in the same way, and give her specifics of HOW it isn't working.
"Ok sir, if you pull down from the top and click on the little gear, you will get the settings menu." Yes, I'm already there.
Click on this thing. Yes, I already did that.
Is it set to somethingorother? Yes, it is.
Try setting it to something else. OK. I'll do that again for the fourth time. Nope, still doesn't work.
Did you drop it on the floor and break it?
No. And we've got the same problem on two devices.
Ok sir, I'm going to elevate the problem to the next level, please hold on...
(Ten minutes of elevator music, then...)
Ring! Ring! Click.

Text message five minutes later:
Thank you for calling BigWirelessCompany Tech Support! Was your problem resolve satisfactorily?
No
(Several more stupid messages)
Thank you for calling BigWirelessCompany Tech Support! Please tell us a little more about your problem.
Thing didn't work. Support agent couldn't help it. Elevated it to a hangup.
(Crickets)
