Shkreli's lawyer defends Shkreli as "just plain stupid"

Martin Shkreli said stupid stuff on Facebook, so Judge Kiyo Matsumoto revoked his $5 million bail.

His defense lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, initially argued that Shkreli has a nonviolent background and was convicted on a nonviolent crime. He conceded that the comment was "stupid." "Stupid doesn't make you violent. Sometimes stupid is just plain stupid," he said. Once his client was remanded, Brafman pleaded with the judge to ban his client from social media instead of sending him to jail.

It looks as though Shkreli is going to live in jail until sentencing on 16 January.
