Chilesaurus was discovered about 2 years ago. It was confusing. The specimen appeared to have body parts that belonged to various different groups, but did not appear to be related to any of them.
Now, it seems the mystery has been solved - it's an early Ornithischian and gives us a glimpse at how that group started to develop, eventually leading to more familiar animals such as Stegosaurus and Triceratops.
