Of course they often get computer stories wrong but this one does seem to be well engineered and robust.
The story says don't pay the ransom but I can't see that commercial operations have any other choice.
Of interest is the apparent use of vulnerability by the USA security services without making sure it did not get used by others in the wild.
Apparently the UK NHS was hacked quite easily because security was not maintained on computers to save money.
