Think I disagree with the ruling. Extreme intelligence shouldn't be an excuse for stupidity.
Also, if she had shown such great signs of being an ornament to her profession, wouldn't her professional bodies be the correct institutions to make that determination? (I.e. allow her to finish qualifying after serving her sentence? )
Have to admit, the "wasn't present in person to receive sentence because she was on vacation in Italy" didn't win any more sympathy.
