Hi, everyone!
I'm new to ISF and have a consult with a dental practice on March 15 to talk about surgery on my lower jaw.
I have had a serious overbite/weak chin as long as I can remember (probably since about age 8, when I began to have my adult teeth).
When I had my wisdom teeth removed, my orthodontist recommended jaw surgery. It wasn't feasible at the time due to the price, and because I worked a job that would have made six weeks of not talking very difficult.
That was several years ago. I now have insurance that will cover most of the costs of surgery.
Can anyone relate their experience(s) with orthognathic surgery?
I'm a bit worried about having my jaw broken, even though it's on purpose and for a good reason.
