Dan McQueen, newly elected mayor of Corpus Christi, TX (pop 325,000), resigned after 37 days.

Quote:

"Can you get the media to quit beating me up and let me work harder at that very thing?" McQueen said. "I'm trying as fast as I can. But like I said, I got media on my ass. I've got the city staff that just isn't there for me yet."

Apparently the media was checking his resume and there was a chemical leak in town that he didn't handle too well.

The evil media strikes again. ;)

Maybe the job wasn't quite as easy as he thought it would be.
