Would the following analogy be appropriate in explaining what trying to read Classical Chinese would be like to a native Chinese speaker?
"Classical Chinese would be like a modern English speaking person trying to read and understand English/Anglo-Saxon."
Now they can read the characters but it is my understanding the meaning have shifted is this correct?
Thanks
