Question related to memory?

I know that often when I am even remembering events from a day or two before, I have trouble remembering "Was that Monday or Tuesday" when it is only Friday, I have found this issue often when I am working on a time sheet which I have been too lazy to work on before. I have issues with times during the day as well.

I am curious if anybody has seen any research into this?

In addition, have any here had similar issues?
