So the past few weeks have supposedly been rough on conservatives: same sex marriage, the rebel flag, Obama-care. More generally social politics has become more popularly liberal: support for marijuana legalization, transgender rights, the notion the invasion of Iraq was a dumb idea.
Also, what constitutes a conservative "victory"? Aren't they supposed to just stop the march of "progress"? There's also the trouble of how the GOP's platform supports programs like Social Security, and even welfare for poor people, but leaders and activists in the vanguard do no "really" believe in those things and work to undermine them. The flip side could refer to issues that enjoy such broad acceptance it might strike people as odd to label them "conservative" (e.g., opposition to animal rights, support for American violations of international law, our level of military spending).
-Guns
-Money-as-speech
-Free Trade (although it's currently a mixed bag because the deranged wing of the GOP is obligated to oppose anything the President supports)
-Action on climate change
-Israel-hugging
-Tax Cuts/Deficits (tax cuts may have a bad reputation at the moment, but as Cheney observed, "Reagan proved deficits don't matter." Once everything is taken into account, the tax code is relatively flat.)
-Affirmative Action (support among the public has declined)
-Animal Rights (most of the public, self-described "animal lovers" holds incoherent, hypocritical views, so basic rights for animals are held by a fringe minority). Public support for eating, hunting, wearing and testing animals remains high.
-Capital punishment
-Military expenditures
I'm sure there are others...
