A strange thing happened today and I am wondering if there are any ideas what is actually happening.
I drive a truck at the moment and all of the drivers spent nearly all day in the lunch room due to lack of work because of the weather.
Strange things started happening with the TV. I got up to put a dvd on and the screen went black, like it had been turned off with the remote. I figured it was playing up and gave up and moved away from the TV. Then it came back to life. I sat down on the couch and the TV turned off again. I got up and the TV came on again.
So I tested it to see if it was just a random freak of timing. After about ten tests we were wondering what was going on. Maybe one of the boys bought another remote control of eBay and was playing practical jokes. We looked around and couldn't find anyone. We ruled out nearby factories because they were too far away and they couldn't see what was happening inside the lunch room without a hidden camera.
Another theory was that I was up to something suspicious over the weekend and I had come to work radioactive. We even considered poltergeists. It turns out that you can get a radiation detector off eBay that detects ghosts too. But we didn't want to wait for it to get here from China.
With a bunch of truck drivers stuck in a lunch room all day, obviously there would be a few practical jokes. Especially with something like that happening. Getting close to the TV and sitting on the couch didn't work every single time, but it must have been about a 90 percent success rate.
So I told the boys I was going to stop at the pokies on the way home and see if it worked there too, but it doesn't. As far as I can tell it is only one old analogue TV with a set top box.
My grandpa used to not be able to wear a watch because they kept stopping. Back then it was all the wind up ones, not the battery operated. I see strange things once in a while, but I have never seemed to have some sort of effect on this TV before. We thought it might have been the aerial, but that wouldn't turn the TV off.
Has anyone got any ideas what is actually happening? I am looking forward to going to work tomorrow to see if it still happens.
