Is juche a religion?
A common rant by religious people, especially by young earth creationists and other literalist religious groups is that north Korea is the most barbaric country on the planet and its officially a atheist state.
However its quite clear that the system of government in north korea is bound up in a supernatural belief system based about a "magic"family. Just because it is officially atheist does not make it so.
I'm no expert on north Korea but the fact that people are forced to learn magical thinking and belief in superior "magic"bloodlines surely means it IS religious.
I would say that given the penalty for rubbishing the supernatural tales about the ruling family its not just religious but a fundamental religious state.
I would like to know what others here think.
