Xperia M - Super Battery?

Before I got my current phone, the one thing that all the reviews agreed upon was that the battery was awesome. For the first six months I owned it, I didn't find it extraordinary... It was GOOD, but nothing to write (text) home about. I could get 36 hours between charges.

But then it started inching downwards and about Christmas I was barely getting 24 hours. I had to make sure I charged it overnight on my son's school days because it's my alarm to wake him up in the mornings.

Then, about two weeks ago, I went to charge it at night as I had been for several weeks and it said it had 96% charge. I thought it was a bad reading and I charged it Mon/Tue/Wed nights as he was in the last week of the school year (school in Thailand is May/Sep and Nov/Feb).

I then charged it Thursday night... it once again had over 95% on the indicator. And I haven't charged it since. It is Monday night here. It not only has not needed a charge, it's sitting on 83%.

Is this magic? Or am I just on the thriftiest setting somehow? I don't use it for browsing or anything other than taking/making calls and receiving mysterious SMS messages from my provider (in Thai, so I know not what they say).

I'm going to let it run down completely to see what its outside limits are. I am a technical klutz. The specs say that the battery can be good for up to 110 hours in 2G. Is it possible I'm in shamefully old 2G mode? (And any theories as to why it was not behaving like this before?)
