The Polls Are Clear: Younger Republicans Support Action on Climate Change http://ift.tt/1t6Dlya
Bloomberg has an interesting article released today.
I think I'm more surprised that 44% of the surveyed Republicans over fifty agreed with "stricter limits on power plants in order to address climate change" than that there is a 56% majority of under 40 Republicans who support stricter limits.
The article primarily talks about the generational differences in belief between older and younger republicans with regard to certain major Republican policy positions and how this is will impact the party over the coming decade. It also mentioned that there did not appear to be any significant variation in older and younger Democrats with regard to these issues.
IMPO, the democrats have their own renegades, most of them, like Obama, however, tend to run towards the right rather than stand firm in their ideological ground. You can't generate balance by leaning towards an imbalance. And let's face it, the only thing that really makes the Democratic party at least a little preferable to most of its constituency is that it is at least a little to the left of the Republican party, on average.
