AC in Electric Autos

I don't have an electric auto so I wonder how people who have these cope with the high power demands for air conditioning especially in southern climes. I just can't imagine commuting for say an hour each way and having stored enough battery power for the AC. What is strange is in all the articles I have seen in newspapers etc this question has not been addressed. I found an article for this:
